Spaetzel
Spaetzel
This a classic side dish for any of your favorite German Oktoberfest entrées.
Note : you will need a Spaetzel maker, they are easy to find online for less than $10. 
Blend in a mixer
2 eggs
2 Tbsp lard or oil
½ cup water
½ cup milk
-mix together in a separate bowl
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp grated nutmeg
¼ tsp baking powder
Add the flour mixture to liquid mixture and mix on low speed until completely combined.
In a large pot bring 4 quarts of water mixed with 2 teaspoons of salt to a rolling boil. Place your Spaetzel maker on top of the pot and spoon the mixture into the hopper and move it back and forth. After a few minutes use a spider or slotted spoon to scoop the Spaetzel out into a casserole or bowl, repeat with remaining mixture.
2 Tbsp salted butter
Toss with butter and serve.
